"Never ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble." - Rep. John Lewis
I love this quote from the late U.S. Representative John Lewis because it reflects my personality, along with "Be Kind." I cannot sit by quietly and watch as Loudoun County Public Schools are continuously paraded on the National news and constantly knocked off course by drama, politics and culture wars. I feel strongly that now is the time for me to make some noise, and good trouble is the only kind I know.
I am a mother of four - which includes one LCPS graduate, and one in each level of school: High, Middle and Elementary. This means I have been an LCPS parent for 15 years and I still have a long way to go! I am also a full-time, site-based substitute teacher with Loudoun County. My daily life is affected by every decision the school board makes, both professionally and as a parent! I am highly motivated to make sure that our schools are safe, academically strong, and provide a solid foundation for future success.
As both an educator and a parent, I have an expansive view of Loudoun County Public Schools and the challenges we face. I am running because I firmly believe that the relationships between community and school can be strong, honest, and productive.
I will expand on these issues as I continue to grow my page.
